Quadruple Combination Dribbling

Layout of the course 3-5-5-3, each player has a ball. The Quadruple Comb is the most important drill for team training. It has two starting and two turning points. The second player starts when the first dribbles forward in the next lane. The players stay on their sides and dribble past the players in the other groups. Variations Clockwise. Counter clockwise.

Organisation: Balls: 25; Cones: Y; Other: Large cones

Coaching points
  • Turning techniques 90 degree
  • Kick with the inside of the foot . Kick with the outside of the foot.
  • 270-degree turn inwards/outwards. dummy step /step-over/scissors.
  • drag the ball back with the sole of the foot.
Progressions
  • Increase pressure / reduce space / add direction.
Regressions
  • Remove opposition or enlarge the area to restore success.

Drill 2 — develop Quadruple Combination Dribbling

Add light opposition or a constraint so players must solve quadruple combination dribbling under pressure. Rotate roles often.

Organisation: SSG pitch with clear scoring / constraints linked to the theme.

20yards 20yards Drill: Traffic Jam Setup: Use cones to create a grid (20x20 yards). Each player has a ball. Instructions: Players dribble their ball around the grid, avoiding "traffic" (other players). On the coach’s command: "Red light" = Stop and foot on the ball. "Green light" = Dribble again. "Roundabout" = Dribble in a circle. Progression: Add challenges like dribbling with weaker foot only. Key Coaching Points: Keep the ball close. Heads up to avoid collisions. Use different parts of the foot (inside, outside, sole).
